How long will it take for my web hosting account to be set up?

Web hosting accounts are set up instantly in real time.
It may however take an hour for the DNS records to be updated and your site available to all. We give you a temporary website address in your welcome email where you can view your website while you are waiting for this process to take place.

Can I have a sub domain?

Yes!

Simply log into your Control Panel and select 'Web Tools' from the next menu select 'Sub Domains'.

To add a sub domain you need to enter what you want the sub domain to be called and which directory it will point to.

 

Do you have an SMTP (outgoing mail) server I can use?

 

Yes, the outgoing mail server is called:

mail.yourdomain.co.uk

(Obviously replacing yourdomain.co.uk with the domain name you have with us)

 

Is there a size limit for email sent to my account?

At Severn Media there is no size limit for attachments or emails sent to your mailbox. However, by default, some hosting packages have mailboxes whose capacity is 400MB.

Sending 20MB by email is not the best method of file deliveru so you need to think about the reasons for it & don't forget we hate spam & spammers!
